Welcome, 2019

Happy New Year!

In the past two years, I have jumped into areas of fear and unknowns.  I have taken a series of coaching courses, become a coach, built a website for my coaching business, designed and printed business cards, attended networking events, moved to Ottawa, and changed my day job twice. At each point, I wondered if I could really do this.  And through it all, I have learned that stepping into fear is an accelerated way to build the trust in self required to grow into the person you want to be.

I began coaching in 2016, and am working towards my certification with Adler International and with the International Coaching Federation.  For me, coaching is the fulfillment of something I never thought possible.  To have the gumption to start a business while working full-time and to market my business, all while helping others to attain their dreams all make my head spin.

I’m pretty proud of myself for all that I have accomplished over the past few years. And yes, I’m taking a moment on this New Year’s Day to pat myself on the back. More importantly, I am thinking about how resilient we are as humans. And if I can step into my fears and face the unknown – and succeed – so can anyone.

Like many of you, I have faced and overcome dire challenges to my health and survival.  I know what it is to build a life back up and to adjust expectations of how to move forward.  I draw on this personal experience to coach people experiencing their own transitions in life.

Coaching is about the journey from a current start of being to a more desired state of being.

I can’t wait to see what 2019 holds for me…and for you!
